Health + Beauty Benefits of Dry Skin Brushing

Dry skin brushing offers an impressive list of health and beauty benefits.

For starters, increases circulation, exfoliates, reduces water retention, may reduce cellulite, reduces stress, improves digestion, and helps kidneys to function optimally.

Your skin is vital for supporting detoxification. However, if your skin is clogged with toxins and/or dead skin cells, it will have a difficult time removing this waste from your body. This is where dry skin brushing can be beneficial, by removing those dead skin cells and stimulating toxin elimination.

How: Use a dry, natural fiber high quality brush, one that is stiff but not too abrasive. A boar bristle brush will give you the best results. You'll want to choose one that has a long handle so you can reach difficult spots on your back. You definitely don’t want to do this at night, it may give you energy. It’s best to incorporate in to a morning routine.

Massage your entire body with the brush. This is done before you shower. Light to medium pressure. This should not be painful, avoid any scrubbing. You can do this for a couple of minutes, up to 10 minutes. You don't want to irritate the skin but definitely want to feel it. Start brushing at the toes, working your way up using circular motions. Finish with a very gentle touch from your heart and above; neck and décolletage. Afterward, take your shower or bath as usual.

Please note- Do not dry brush your face! If you would like to exfoliate your face, check out our collection of exfoliating facial cleansers.

Guaranteed, you will love dry skin brushing. When you see and feel results, it’s actually quite addicting. (in a good way)
